Business software company CA Inc. announced on Tuesday that it is planning to cut 1000 jobs, or about 8 percent of its workforce, in an effort to trim costs and become leaner. The US-based company will also consolidate offices, according to documents filed with the US Securities & Exchange Commission.
“I recognize that the actions we’re taking are difficult. But in the end, they will make CA stronger and more competitive,” CEO Bill McCracken said in a memo to employees on Tuesday. The job cuts are expected to occur mainly in North America and to be mostly completed by the end of September.
